On a side note I really hope they give us a scene where Booth admits he has a problem and says he wants to get help because that is huge for struggling addicts to understand that they aren't weak for wanting to get help I need this so bad. It'd be such a good moment for Booth to really be honest with himself. When I watched 5x16 and Brennan was talking about Booth's gambling problem, he says it wasn't really a problem because he was winning. Even though he knows he's a gambler, I don't think it's ever actually sunk in that he has a serious problem. IDK maybe it has but he always brushes it off when it's brought up.

I feel like he brushes it off because he doesn't want to admit it to anyone but himself. He has a lot of pride and wants to be the big man and provide and be strong for others, so when he has a problem he holds it off to keep others safe. I think that's what it is as the end of the day

This the first time his gambling has personally affected other people besides himself (that we've seen) so I'd like to see him just lay it all out with Brennan.

I really want to see Booth let down those walls completely, too. He has a lot of pride but I don’t think that has helped him over the years. For all Booth’s talk about letting people in, he has further to go than Brennan. Most people can’t tell because he makes it a point to look normal to the world.

I've said this before but I do really think Booth needs a friend. I mean, I know he had Sweets, but I didn't really consider them friends? Because they were more like brothers. But I do think Booth needs someone else who isn't Brennan to really open up to and let his walls down with. Hopefully that'll be Aubrey in the near future.

But I do think Booth needs someone else who isn't Brennan to really open up to and let his walls down with. Hopefully that'll be Aubrey in the near future. Sweets and Booth’s relationship never really felt “equal" because of Sweets’ hero worship. I can’t remember if Sweets ever called Booth out on his crap and like Pops said, Booth needs someone like that in his life. Aldo was really good. I think Aubrey will be really good for Booth too. But I admit I want Booth to open up and really let his walls down with Brennan. The show started with Booth telling Brennan to get anywhere with people, you need to reveal yourself. We’ve gotten to a point where Brennan reveals her insecurities and fears. She can tell Booth her mistakes or if she is scared. She doesn't hold anything back from Booth. I just want them to have an equal relationship where Booth does the same with her. She is the person he is most open with but he still hides things from her. I think a huge part of the difference is that Brennan accepts herself for who she is. She is not afraid to accept her flaws. Before she thought people needed protection from her because there was something wrong with her... but now she is comfortable in her own skin. But Booth still struggles with himself. He is afraid to examine his flaws so he doesn’t respect his limitations which leads to problems like this. He wants to think he can take care of everything by himself-- but strength is also about asking for help.

I love that Aubrey calls Booth out on his crap but he also just really cares about Booth. My ideal person for Booth to let his walls down with (other than Brennan) is Cam but I know it'll never happen.
I think on some levels Booth does let his walls down with Brennan. He's more vulnerable with her than anyone else.

Honestly? I'd like for Booth to confide in Caroline. I think THAT would be major. Like Sweets did after the gravedigger was killed like right next to him. Both Caroline and Booth are stubborn and a lot a like, I think Caroline would be a great person to get to him tbh

Both Caroline and Booth are stubborn and a lot a like, I think Caroline would be a great person to get to him tbh I honestly never thought of that but that'd be pretty amazing. I love in the S9 premiere when Booth was sleeping in his office and as he was walking out Caroline like screamed that he smelled like burbon ha

I'm so happy Booth finally decided to open up at the meetings! And he did it in a non-judgmental or self-pitying manner. This whole storyline is really well done. Like, usually I can point out annoying, unrealistic things with such a human storyline, but they're really, really doing this justice.
