May b it's just me but can I say I really appreciate that Cam really openly accepts and respects (at least now she does lmao) Arastoo and his religious practices/culture and it's very incorporated into their relationship and she never has anything negative to say about it (except in 4x19 but there was a lot of shit in that ep so Im blaming it on the writers).

YEAH!! when she said it i didnt rly think about it too much but later i was like omfg hold on what she said was so important like its not even that she 'accepts' it (bc lbr its not really her place to like, accept it or not, its his religion) but that she supports it so much and stuff like its just a normal everyday thing to them its not a big deal or anything i love that omg. and also speaking of 4x19 idk if this was in the same ep or what (actually i think its a different ep) but shes always had positive things to say (apart from that one backhand comment then lol) but remember that time when brennan was all like um he prays all the time religion is pointless blah blah her usual crap and cam basically told her to back off about it yeah i appreciate that a lot |

Exactly like I know it's not her place to have a say in it at all but it could very well be terribly handled extensively, which, thank god they cut that crap real quick. I think they handle Arastoo's faith and culture very well, but that's just coming from me and I know nothing of what it is to be as he is so I guess you can take that as it is but yeah I've always appreciated the way that Cam accepts and integrated it into her life as well without hesitation.

I mean having a muslim character in the time of extreme islamophobia in the US is p cool. When i was watching the ep my step-dad pointed out how they still framed it so that the US was better than Iran, more honest and stuff, but at least they did try a /little/ bit
tbh im not sure if its noticeable for american fans, but the show has always been really patriotic, and not just from Booth (who is a patriotic character) but even from Hodgins and stuff whos supposed to be the naysayer and the one whos against the government (especially in that 9/11 episode) The writers put their own national pride into the mouths of ALL the characters instead of a few and its kind of overwhelming for an international fan like me

OMG yes i love that. Like she's always talking about making these Persian dishes and foods and stuff and she's so enthusiastic about it. And I really loved that speech she gave about his religious practices in 10x19. The writers could have made this a huge problem between them and i'm so pleasantly surprised that they didn't go down that route. |
